Being put in a cage at a groomers for hours is always tramatic on these little babies. They can also pick up fleas, kennel cough and staph infections. I've seen groomers take dogs out of the cages and without disinfecting it, just put another dog in. I don't even take mine for nail cuts anymore because they use the same clippers, combs, table and all without ever disinfecting them after each use. (I now use a very coarse emery board)
You should just invest in a grooming book, good scissors and clipper with a couple different blades, and do your own grooming.
