You can train a puppy to use a doggie door in just a few minutes, but it takes two people. One inside with treats and one outside with treats. YOu take turns gently pushing the pup thru. then the other person praises like crazy and gives a "tiny" treat. Back and forth like this for about 6 to 8 times, then a few hours later repeat. That's usually all it takes.
However, I would never let them outside unatended, unless you have a cement run with chain link fence on the sides and top. Too many things can happen to them. |
