the nail is hanging on?? if it is still bleeding just dip it in some flour... that will clot it... i would NOT cut it of myself... he might flinch and you might cut it more.. i'd wrap it in a kleenex and tape around his paw... perhaps put a sock over that and tape aroudn it... either bring him to an emerg vet if he seems in a lot of pain or bring him in tomorrow.. poor little man.. that must hurt!
