Sorry you had such a bad experience but it doesn't sound like they treated Tink badly, just YOU. To wear the collar or not to wear, that is the question!! I think alot of it depends on Tink and if she is bothering her stitches. Kallie was stitched from the inside and glued too!!! I did not wear a collar on her but she did lick a lot but I watched her closely. She did manage to lick enough to make a tiny little opening which I rushed back to the vet when I discovered it, but She is great and no scar whatsoever!!! Tink will be fine, but will YOU??? Glad you don't have to do that again. I think I would let the Rescue group know that the place they use, do not treat their rescue clients very well.
