Maddie is not really eating or drinking as she is very concerned for her pup. I know she's just being a good mom, but it's worrying me. Also, she will hardly get up to go to the bathroom. Finally late this afternoon I took the pup out of their "house" so she would go and she finally did. It was bright orange so I'm pretty sure she hadn't gone all day. Is this normal? Especially for first time moms? I don't want her to dry up her milk by not drinking or eating enough. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Jackie,
Try putting a piddle pad right outside the whelping box, that is if you haven't already, she's just being a good mom and reluctant to leave her baby. You may have to take her outside. Try this recipe, it'll help with milk production and strength. I'm sure you're planning to take her to the vets for a shot of Oxcytocin.
