I have a confession to make...
Before I got Chloe, I really was not a dog person. Actually, as a kid, I was afraid of dogs (mostly big dogs.) In fact, when I was deciding whether or not to make the leap and get a yorkie, I was almost talked out of it by my aunt who told me I was "not a dog person." We used to own cats before we had kids, but my oldest is allergic, so we could not have cats anymore. I wanted a dog mostly because, now that I had recently finished school (got my BA in English Literature...yay!), I needed a new "something" in my life.
Well, having Chloe has totally made me a dog person! I not only am interested in my own dog, I like meeting other dog owners and their dogs, talking about our dogs. I have found that I have so much in common with other dog owners, and how easy it is to make new friends when you have a dog with you. People with dogs seem to gravitate towards each other, asking questions about each other's dog, things like that. There is a whole other world out there full of people who "get it" when it comes to dogs, and now I feel like I am a part of that world. So, I have to admit, that this was the right move for me at this time in my life.
And I think my life is more enriched because of it.
Anyone else feel the same way?
