Encourage the dam to lay down and place the pups on the nipples. Squeeze some milk out and let it touch the pups lips..you may need to gently open the mouth and squirt some in and show them how to latch oin to the nipple.
If the mom will not lay still you may have to hold her down until she realizes she must lay still...just pet her head and talk gently to her.
Make sure she is cleaning their rears so they can pee and poop. If they are crying, make sure they are warm and hand feed them, never feed a cold pup, you will kill it...good luck |
