Okay, you and Villette have this all wrong. There should be an island where all the parents of teenagers can go until they grow out of it
Mine will be 15 in June and thought I was a terrible mom because I made him take out the trash, do his own laundry, clean the kitchen. All this after I'd worked all day to feed, clothe and house him for all this time on my own. I'm surprised he didn't call CPS on me.
Now, he's living with his grandparents in Carlsbad, NM - a 12 hour drive away. I was devastated at first, now I'm loving it. He comes home in a couple of weeks for Spring break. It will be interesting to see if his attitude has changed any.
My theory has always been that parents don't get brains until the kid turns 25. Hang in there
