You might be surprised at how easy it is to tell them apart. I wouldn't, however, put anything around their neck; to easy for them to strangle. The nail polish thing works - I did it myself - only because I had two females that looked a lot alike. The other three in the litter were very distinct and I didn't need any ID for them.
