I only give my little boy a few licks off my finger when he has not been eating well...when he does not eat well it usually ends up with him throwing up yellow bile. He does go into the "reverse sneezing" once in a while when he gets over excited and this seems to be the time he will not eat well and will require the nutra cal which always seems to help him...I have never noticed any negative reaction to it!!
