I had a vet tell me to do this years ago. He said to put the pill as far back as possible, hold the mouth shut while stroking their throat until they swallow. I only had about a 20% success rate with this method.
Someone else told me to try blowing in their nose instead of stroking the throat to make them swallow. Lets just say that was a nightmare that left me with a really upset dog!!
And that was with my mellow Sheltie... could you just imagine how a York would react!!
