Dean is 3.5 at 18 weeks, but vet thinks he might be older. She (vet) said he'll probably be 4-5 lbs. I wanted a small one too, but now Dean's here and I've seen how teeny he is, I'd be plenty okay with him if he gets a tad bigger than that. Rats and bats are fatter than our babies when they're wet!
Gidgetsmom - I think feeding puppy food would increase weight in an older dog. Puppy food has like twice the calories and fat (ok -- maybe not twice -- but a lot more) than regular food. I have different foods for mine. I feed one first thing in a.m., take him out while the other is being fed her food (weight management food!) Dean, the Yorkie, has his own cafe in my bathroom right now. He takes care of his business on one side and eats on the other. It is very frustrating having to separate, but it's for the ultimate health of my pups, so I force myself to do it. 'Bout once a week I get real lazy though and just fill a bowl of puppy food and let 'em have turns ...Lol
