We use a CC pin brush on Miko & Emma, and it works wonderfully, but it doesn't have to be CC. Just look for a pin brush that doesn't have the little balls on the end because they tend to break the hair. Also, don't brush him dry. Use a good detangling spray or light leave-in conditioner before you brush
