I'd just start saving for a new yorkie. Start with the $100 that your husband would be comfortable spending then save your change and your bottle deposits. A little here and a little there...eventually you'll have something more reasonable. It's really unreasonable to think you'll find one for $100 or less and I don't want you to give up. Your husband can't complain about how much you spend on a dog if you save up. It took me over a decade to be able to afford mine so I definately know what you're going through. A yorkie mix might even be more in your price range.

3 year olds are kind of rough on animals, so as you save your child will get older and you won't have to worry. Even an extra year will improve how she will be around a small puppy. Good luck in your search.
