I have had problems with the sanitary pads being too long. When they get soaked (if I am gone very long) they get their hair wet and stinky all the way up on their back. So, what I have done is bought some nursing pads (for breast feeding) and put them on top of the maxi pads. This helps some to keep the pee all in the same spot on their belly area, but the maxi is underneath so if it gets really wet there it can take the overflow. It works pretty good, but I wish the nursing pads held more. It just really bugs me to have my boys get so stinky on their hair, I even cut my beautiful long haired boy down for this reason. Anyone know of a smaller thicker pad? I am working on something to help with this by modifying belly bands, but haven't had time (because of work) to actually try it yet. I will let everyone know when I do, though, because I think it will work. But in the meantime I remain in search of a smaller more absorbent pad.
