Lol! Thats so funny, I thought the same thing about Max when he lifted his leg, I thought my baby turned into a big boy.. Now my big boy is lifting his leg like its the coolest trick he knows and I want him to stop
A belly band is sort of like a diaper, its a strip of cloth that goes around his belly and closes with velcro. I put a sanitary napkin in the middle of his belly band incase he does lift his leg he wets the napkin and not the band. They work really well! He never messes in my house because the belly band absorbs it all and its great to use when visiting someone's house, you dont have to worry about any accidents with the diaper on
BUT I would much rather he not mark then to use Belly Bands for ever
I've been taking him on walks every night and when he lifts his leg to every other bush I give a gentle tug on the leash and say "no mark" and he will stop until the next bush and so on. I don't know what other command I should use, mark is very close to bark I dont want to confuse him. BUt I was hoping to train him with a command so when we are in the house if I see him sniffing around i can use the command and he will know not to.
Any other advice or suggestions?
My main concern is will I be able to train him not to mark, if so how?
Here is a picture of Max with his Belly Band on, he looks like he's smiling
