Just saw your thread and hope everything is fine with your little pup. I had one that the mother kept taking from the box too. I supplemented the puppy 4 times a day and also weighed her daily to make sure she was gaining. Each day and ounce seemed to be a victory. The vet and two breeders told me not to expect her to live as the mother probably knew something that I did not know. I also used a large midwest type cage and shut it when I could not be around, so the mother could not take the puppy out. Anyway my story ended happily, as my little Angel survived and is healthy as can be. Took her to the vet several times to get check ups, but they never could find anything wrong. I named the puppy Angel as I figured she was destined to either die and be an angel or with my help maybe she would survive. In that case she was my earth angel. She now is happily living with another Yter! |
