My vet told me that with the pre-op blood work they can identify problems. I am a nurse and I know that with people that the pre-op blood work is a must. What if you have low blood count, you would need to build that up before loosing anymore during surgery. My vet also told me that she has identified liver problems through the pre-op blood work when there was no signs/symptoms of liver problems yet. I am going to have it done when Hannah is spayed just for peace of mind.
