I kind of have that problem with Truffles...she is not yet 6 months...but I know what I have to do to fix it, so hopefully it won't be too hard. She is in puppy class right now so she is learning commands. They say to always keep your baby on the leash - let it drag behind them around the house! Then you can quickly correct her with a tug on the leash along with the command, as well as step on the leash alot easier when they wanna run!
With the leash on, you can practice opening the door and making her stay "inside" then you walk out and tell her to "stay" while tugging your leash, if need be.
Scary to have to chase them huh? And mine thinks its a game so she just runs faster! The other day I had her in the backyard and she does not yet know what a pool is! But I had her leash and let her go be curious...she walked right into the pool!! I was able to pull her back so just her paws got wet, but I think she has to do that to know that she doesn't want to do that! Vixxen knows the pool and she runs free in the back with no problem
