However, I have wanted a smaller yorkie for a few years now and I have a dog already that 8 or 9lbs, so I wanted something smaller. If I REALLY wasn't worried about the dogs health than I would get one that will be 2lbs. Another this is that if I wanted a bigger dog than I would not spend as much as I am planning on to get a small one. I am worried I am paying the price for a small one and getting a big one. So for everyone on yorkie talk that thinks I just want the dog for its size and dont care if it is healthy your wrong.

I also feel that you are wrong for judging me that way.
I understand you wanting a yorkie close to 4lbs, it makes sense to me I too wanted to find a yorkie that wouldn't be more than 4lbs when I 1st decided to buy one. I have 2 yorkies now and was told they would both NOT be over 4lbs I was actually told Max wouldn't be over 4 and Missy wouldn't be over 3.5 But you can never really guarantee their exact adult weight Missy is now 5.5 and Max is 4 but they look like the exact same size. So I think 4 - 6 range is still really small. Everytime I take my yorkies out in public people cant believe how small they are.

I think what the others were trying to say is you cannot guarantee size even if the mother and father were so small. So you should strive for the best possible breeder with that the likleyhood of getting a healthy yorkie is much greater and better estimate of full grown weight will follow. Often times backyard breeders brokers etc. say they "guarantee" the yorkie will not grow over x-lbs but there are no guarantees. I should know, I went to one of them with before I knew better. The best way is to take their weight at 12 weeks and double it. BUT with that said, Missy was 2.2lbs at 12weeks and is now 5.5 so you the full grown weight could be a big surprise

Getting your 1st yorkie is so exciting!! Good luck
