That and x-rays will be a few hundred dollars, so since she's not in pain right now, I'm going to wait a couple of days and see if it gets better, then I'll try and get her into her regular vet if we have to leave her and do x-rays. This is so strange. I hope it is nothing that plans on staying. She already is a fussy eater. Now every time she wants to crouch at her food bowl, her leg starts going berserk!
Please keep your fingers crossed that it was just a sprain from jumping or something, and that it will go away in a couple of days... |
its definately not an emergency so i'm with you on waiting to see your regular vet. she probably will need to be sedated to have proper x-rays because they don't exactly like their legs being cranked on while trying to get them into position. hopefully its nothing major and it can be fixed with rest. In the meantime i'll give you the advise i give all my patient owners after surgery "no running, no jumping, no playing, no stairs". in her case, playing is fine i just wouldn't let her get way out of control. if this were happening to my dog i'd be keeping her as calm as possible and not letting her get worked up so she'd use the leg alot. after a few days of rest hopefully the twitching will stop. if not, then its x-ray time.
