I'm not a breeder but that temp seems high? I would definately get a scale because it is the only way you can tell if the baby is gaining and gaining is a huge deal. I just bought a small postal scale - way cheap!
5 hours seems like a really long time. I never left Lilly more than 1/2 hour or so. If someone is able to drop in and check her that would be best. Then next two weeks are really hard because being a young mom she needs you. I felt like I had a new born myself. Only after about 4 weeks did I trust her by herself for longer periods of time ( 2-3 hour stretches). That pup should be nursing all the time. Just like a new born baby about every 2 hours. The hard part with a single puppy is there are no siblings to help keep her warm if mom is not around. Good luck and again if you have questions about my experience I am here = )
