Since last January I have not taken on a foster. Mostly because with having now 6 Yorkies I feel like my attention to each one individually on a daily basis has been stretched to the limit and having the life style I a having now and working outside the home 3 days a week/12 hrs a day is enough for me.

I mostly support yTNR with helping with referrals and talking to people like you. I also support them in a monitary way by particpating in their auctions and or fund raisors (which are infrequent)

Starting a the end of this month I am taking my 1st of 4 cetification classes with a friend in healing touch for animals www.healingtouchforanimals.com I hope to be fully certified by this tme next year, having my own business and quiting my day job as a Nurse.

When you get a foster you must take it to a vet to have it seen as a well dog,
up to date with all the shots, get it microchipped and having it spayed or nuetered before you can inteview peolple to adopt the dog. Usually you pay up front for these vet bills then get reimbursed but there have been cases where ytnr will pay for part or some of the bill up front.

On your application to adopt a Yorkie questions are asked of you such as the age and amount of children you have. We have nothing against potential adoptees having small children but we will not put a rescue that is not good with kids into a situation where it can be be a potential problem for the dog and/ or the family.
