Hi Steph The Yorkie's on the yTNR site that are pictured are currently being fostered by YTNR members. Some of the rescues we have never make the website because they are adopted so quickly by people that want to adopt a Yorkie. Most of our Yorkies are older (greater than 2 years) but that does make them bad dogs to adopt. Before I adopted Robin I was a yTNR member and had been signed up to be a foster Mom. 3 months after joining ytTNR. I was asked foster Robin for another YTNR member that wanted to go on vacation for 2 weeks and I was on the way she was going. Robin had been with them for 2 months and she was never put on the web site. After just a few days after fostering her I told my Husband that YTNR members have "fist bids" to adopt on of the foster's that have been placed in their home. After fostering her for 2 weeks my Husband and I adopted Robin. Now almost 3 years later we have never regreted our descision. On the ytnr website you can either sign up to become a Foster Mom (this may giive you a chance to see how your children do with a dog in the house and older Yorkie's may not be as fragile as a puppy.) You can also sign up to "adopt a Yorkie" and when one is available within your state you will get a phone call. You may choose to adopt the dog offered to you or not and still remain on the wait list. I am sorry for such a long post just trying to be helpful. Janie
