If you find a responsible breeder with a good health guarantee you shouldn't have any major problems. Since, you are looking for a larger yorkie you are even better off. Some of those health problems are directly linked to the tiny yorkies because they can be very fragile.
My female is 5lbs and my male is 7lbs and neither one has had any heath problems. I bought pet insurance and not even their regular care cost any more than any other dog.
Just my thoughts but I think yorkies are the number two breed for a reason. They are very loyal, lovable and if you keep their hair on the shorter side... not that hard to groom. Mine make very little mess and don't shed a bit. Good luck!! |
