I think it depends on the dog and the cat. We have to adults cats they are 7 years old.They do not want anything to with my two teapot yorkies. They are gated off in my daughters room and other rooms in the house. Your puppy will run after the cat!After all he is a dog.Gate off a room so the cat can have space.Someone told me they trained their dog --putting a lead on the dog all day and when he went for the cat they would say "Leave it".
