We have a Yorkie (Harley) and his tear stains do not show up so we just never really worried about it. However, once we got Bailey (our Maltese/Bichon mix) he had horrible tear stains. We bought Eye Envy and it was just so-so....I, personally, would not buy it again because it wasn't that great. What we found to work is an all natural dog food and it is great! It is called, Nature's Variety and ours eat the Chicken Meal & Brown Rice. It was recommended by others that had problems with the stains. I was told it works and it does!
Also, the stains are worse while they are teething.
