I bet what you are looking for is DAP - Dog Appeasing Phenome. It is supposed to replicate the smell that a lactating "bitch" (female dog, you know!) gives off that is soothing to her young. My vet here in England recommends and sells it. Not sure if it has to come from a vet in the States or if you might can find it online.

Rescue Remedy - an herbal product - can be used at the same time.

Can I ask - what sort of problems are they having?
