not to change your mind but just to let you know, i worked in an airport for 7 years. if there is a delay in the flight, the dogs are brought into the airport. they are not left outside or with the lugguge. they are taken out when there is a connecting flight, they are pulled out of the crate to be checked (mostly played with by the employees). the employees are trained with what to do w a puppy if there is anything wrong (never in 7 years was there a puppy in distress). there is puppy food attached to the crate for them to be fed. the employees are aware when there is a puppy on the flight and have a special area they need to go to.
i have only heard of VERY VERY VERY FEW incidents where there was a problem w shipping an animal. you are much more likely to get into a car accident than for something to happen to a puppy while on a flight.
