Honestly cost shouldn't even be an issue. Canidae is one of the less expensive "premium" foods and has no corn, no by-products and is a great food and only costs $7-8 for a 5lb bag. Iams and Purina and all of them will change one ingredient and slap a new label on it and charge more for the same junk so you think you are getting a better food. A lot of the junky foods cost more than the good foods, especially when you factor in how much you have to feed them and how of the junk ends up undigested in your yard.
