Don't know if they are toxic or not. When I brush my big dogs, I put their hair in the flower bed or anyplace that is damp, cool, sprinkler valve boxes, or anyplace where the slugs hang out. If I don't have enough hair, I ask my beautician for a bag full of human hair. Hair will cut right through a slug. A lot better than using poison. The yeast or beer works too, but OH IS IT NASTY when the cup gets full of melted slugs.
