I'm really glad to hear your dog is doing better! I know it's a little late, but I thought it would be worth mentioning that I took Teagan to the vet today because she had symptoms just like you've described (something resembling a pimple, then a blackish crusty spot) and the vet said it was a mild staph infection. He prescribed Lincocin, 1/2 pill 2 x day for 2 weeks.
