OMG...ok, no, you should be able to use your vet of choice and she should have to pay for this. She is no vet, as stated above, so you should take the advice of your vet and do what he recommends. Maybe get a second opinion but I wouldn't take the advice of this breeder!
You should read over your contract...and if you have a 5 day health guarantee, could that be why she wants you to wait 6 months and "it will just clear up on its own" Sounds fishy to me......
