My vet has been placing chips for 18 years and other than some irritation at the needle site once in a while he has seen no other problems. He also says the cancer aspect has not been proven. I'd rather have my dogs chipped knowng I could possibly get them back than worry about a maybe. We have been able to reunite 2 dogs wth their owners at the vet I work for because they were chipped.
