you can do it one of 2 ways. If you are doing a fabric hairbow you would use 2 bands one around the fabric to squeeze it in the center and then run the other thru the band in the center of the bow.
on ribbon bows you put the band in the center and then you put one end inside the other and pull. Somtimes its best to put 2 bands on there in case one band breaks the other band will be there for them to use the bow again.
