Of course it is possible that one of the breeders lied to you. That is always a possibility. However, there is alot more that goes into 2 dogs "making a puppy" than what it reads on a piece of paper. More than likely, the genetics of the two parents did not compliment each other, resulting in offspring that didn't look like what you'd expected it to--not your textbook representation of the breed.
It doesn't mean that the dog won't be a great, loveable pet.
