My vet doesn't sell Revolution either! I had asked about it after hearing about several people on here using it...she said that it doesn't work on one of the types of ticks we have in our area and something else. So, she said she doesn't recommend it for our area. So....we never looked into it any further.

We have never tried anything "over the counter"...like at Wal-Mart on Mojo...I was also told that those drops were not strong enough or they didn't work or something.

We used K9 Advantix from our vet for years, it also prevents misquito bites (which reduces the risk of heartworms)....but it just didn't seem to work well w/ ticks....course, we live in the WOODS!...so I know ticks will get on the ticks at some point.

We are currently just starting Frontline Plus...and hoping it works...the only drawback to it, it didn't cover the misquito protection...which I am alittle worried about. (but I am anal about that kind of stuff).

There is a spray...I think it is called Orvitol? that you can get from your vet or vet supply stores.....When Mojo was covered - I mean his skin was BROWN w/ those little "seed" ticks - last year, she told us to spray some of that on a rag and wipe down his skin....the ticks just fell off DEAD - it works for fleas too....(you can use it around their face too, when using it on a rag). I don't have the bottle handy to read you all the informaion, but it is good to have one hand!

I am afraid that the pests will be bad this summer.....I don't think they ever died down this winter! YUCK! That is the one dread about spring and summer!

Oh, I think you are suppose to wait a few days after a bath to apply the tick/flea drops....because their skin is dry and the drops need the oil on their skin....something like that....isn't this what is recommended?? I can't remember.....I know the groomer will always ask about the application when making appointments. I think I was told to wait three days after a bath to apply it and three days after applying it to gave a bath. I'm not sure though.
