Yeah, that growth spurt thing comes on quick. Ozzie was 3.2 pounds at 11 weeks when we got him. By the time he had his six month exam, he was DOUBLE that. By age 1, he was over 9 pounds. Freaked us out as our first Yorkie never weighed more than 7 pounds his whole life.
He was probably at best weight for his size at around 12 pounds. He has gained a bit more since getting neutered a year ago. (Now around 13.5.) With spring coming, he'll be able to go on long walks again though and that should get him to shed a little. |
