One night when I was leaving work late there was a weird guy hanging around near the door. This was in a shopping center, but we were on the end and a bit isolated from the rest. Finally, I got tired of waiting for him to go away and used my keys to set off my alarm. Thankfully, it is one where the horn beeps off and on. Folks still look at those where the other kind generally get ignored.
The guy left immediately, which told me he was up to no good.
