Hi there! Apparently they grow out of this stage..and sometimes into it! I've heard of pups that weren't agressive chewers that reached the "terrible two's" and started ruining furniture, all at around the 7 month mark!
Bitter apple should work, but it only works when it's wet.
I'm not sure about bully sticks for a puppy...my vet and a few pet food store owners have told me that you should save "hard" chews for when the adult teeth are in...for now stick to anything that's flexible.
I bought a puppy kong for Tia, and she loves to get baby carrots out of it. I usually put the kong in the freezer so it's cold enough to sooth her gums.
Tia also loves the small chicken or liver flavoured Nylabones. Again, if you're going to get a nylabone, make sure it's the flexible kind, and only let her have that toy when you can supervise her.
People have different opinions on what toys puppies and adult yorkies should play with. At the end of the day, make sure that you check over the toy for cracks and/or splinters, so that they don't ingest anything that could be harmful. |
