The car seat and coat...

I made this from a stackable storage box I bought from the DIY centre, I got some strap and d rings, adjusters for the straps, a fluffy pillow from the pet shop, an old fleece blanket and a black suede skirt that is far too big for me now...

I cut holes in the box to feed the strapping through and secured it to circles of metal to stop it pulling through, I sowed all this on the machine, (breaking 2 needles from hitting the d rings!) and out adjusters on the straps. I also fitted an additional strap with a d ring to secure her in the box. This means that I can either install it on my back seat by putting it on the seat and putting the seat belt round it, or using the straps to secure it to my front seat so it is suspended just below window height so Gypsy can look out... I made a cover from the suede, I rolled up an old fleece blanket up to a sausage, placed it round the top edges of the box and stitched to keep it's shape, I left some of the blanket running down the inside of the box to make an internal padding. I fitted the cover and then placed the pillow inside. SHE LOVES IT! I had a hard time keeping her out of it when I was making it!

I'll take some more pics if anyone is interested in seeing how it's made and it's really easy!!!! I thought I'd got more than one photo but I haven't and it's dark outside now...

This photo is taken of it on the backseat as my OH demanded the seat be in the back and not him! lol
