We switched to Vonage right when they came out a couple of years ago. We were paying just over $100 a month for stupid land line then on top of that, the long distance charges.

My husband is from South Africa and calls home often. Our charge to call South Africa was cut in more than half with Vonage plus we can call anywhere in the US and Canada for free. BONUS!!

Our reception has always been fantastic. Of course when your cable is out - your phone is out. But we have cell phones as well so it's not usually an issue. If you have poor service with your cable company and don't get good cell service at your house, I wouldn't recommend it.

Bottom line - we love Vonage and we love the extra money we have saved (to spend on my fur babies...shhhh)
