That happened to us with my dtr's guinea pig. We took Alfalfa Sprout back (no $ involved) and ended up keeping him the rest of his life. Sad part is, my dtr was allergic to him, also. That was why she found him a new home. I'm kinda glad it worked out that way. At least I know Falfie was safe and EXTREMELY well fed
