Three of mine had white on their chest - not to worry. Some here have suggested it means they will have a thick, full coat. Glad the delivery went well; hope the little girl hangs in there.

I cut the cords and sacs on Chloe's litter, for safety reasons, not because she wouldn't. I didn't want to take any chances. Whelping pups is not for the faint of heart. Did you count the afterbirths? If not, or if there weren't the same number, be sure to get her a shot of oxytocin. You surely don't want any retained placentas.

Now, the fun begins. All that puppy breath - I'm SOOO jealous!
