Brandy got leather ear last year. The edges of the ears turned black and the hair fell out in little clumps. I cleaned the blackened areas with cotton balls and rubbing alchohol. Then rubbed in some of the lotrimin 1% antifungal cream. I did it about twice a day for a couple weeks. Within a week or two I noticed she was not losing anymore hair and the cotton balls looked clean after cleaning her ears where the first few times they got a bit gray. The hair grew back completely in a month or so. So far this winter there has been no sign of it returning.
