He did the same thing with climbing out of the pen while I was at work. That night, I put him back in his pen and went around the corner and watched how he was getting out. He'd push his bed as close to the side as he could get; step on the outer edge of the bed; and climb the rest of the pen like it was a ladder. Once I realized he would do that, I made sure nothing was plugged into that he could get to and shut all of the bedroom doors. He was happy and had run of the kitchen, dining and living rooms.
