It is hard to hear about and see reports of such cruelty. It would be so much nicer to believe humankind above such things. But I think it is important to have them reported. People need to know that this sort of cruety exists. We need to know who those people are. We need to all find ways to combat the evil.
It makes me think of the Holocaust -- no one likes to be reminded of the atocities that people committed against their fellow human beings either. I sometimes turn away from the History Channel when it gets too graphic. But it is important to know that that sort of evil exists so we can guard against it ever happening again. Not comparing the two -- but just that evil is evil however it rears its ugly head. And we need to be aware and vigilant. |
