If your pup has not had a bile acid test please ask your vet to do one. It is a blood test where the blood is drawn after a 12 hour fast, and then the dog is fed and it is drawn again about 2 hours later. This test will tell you if there is any problem with the liver, which could also have some of the symptoms you have talked about. From what you have said about your vet I would look for another one and inquire if they are experienced with toy dogs. Treating toy dogs is a lot different than treating large dogs. Even with surgery you need to use an anesthetic that is safe for toy dogs. There have been times when a toy dog has been put under for surgery and never woke up again. It is very important that you have a vet that knows about toy dogs. |
