No, it doesn't cause problems. I'm a show breeder and it's common practice amongst exhibitors.

The eyebrows can be trimmed down too. Makes for a much cleaner topknot
Thanks so much! Yes, I was taking about the coarse hairs that just want to stick up every which way. I kept scrutnizing pictures of Yorkies in a show coat but couldn't tell. I will be sure to trim them on her next bath.
