This worked like a charm on Adie too. She even stopped biting the other dogs shortly after I did this a few times. It didn't take too many.

It isn't a cruel thing to do and it is something the puppy will understand. Putting them on their backs and holding them there is helpful too. The puppy must learn who is boss and what is acceptable behavior.
